Hong Kong (16th December, 2015) – The AIA Great European Carnival Gala Preview was unveiled today to packed crowds, plenty of entertainment including Hong Kong Police Band’s performance, 24 rides, and a gala atmosphere. Guests at the Carnival Gala Preview, which included media representatives and two of their key charity partners, Operation Santa Claus and the Cancer Fund, declared this season’s event an emphatic “wow”!

This year’s Carnival, which is packed with rides, games, loveable toys and colourful and attractive installations is without a doubt even bigger, better and more exciting than last year’s popular spectacular, with its doors open to the public tomorrow, Thursday 17 of December.

“In partnership with our title sponsor, AIA, we are thrilled to present an authentic European carnival experience in the most convenient and spectacular location in Hong Kong at the Central Harbourfront venue. Over the next 67 days we have more surprises in store in addition to our new rides, new games, new toys, and great live entertainment. An upside-down purple cow has also graced our venue through the current Udderbelly Festival, presenting a wide variety of over 200 live comedies, theatrical, family and children’s shows.  There is an abundance of entertainment here for everyone to enjoy, every day. We are so proud to be opening with not only what we have promised, but much, much more,” said Michael Denmark, CEO of the Great European Carnival.

In total, some 29 sensational rides have been constructed, with most coming into operation for the opening day and the remainder scheduled for the next few days. There are numerous specialty Juvenile, Family and Thrill rides, all of which have been specially shipped to Hong Kong from various parts of Europe. There are also 25 different skill games for participants, and a million toys available which are expected to be won during the Carnival period.
